Why should I use a travel advisor instead of booking online?
Booking online gives you a reservation number. Working with a travel advisor gives you someone in your corner for guidance, support and personalized recommendations based on your family, budget and travel style. I help you avoid costly mistakes, save time researching and make the entire process less stressful, being your one-person contact from the quoting process all the way through until you get home.
How much does it cost to work with you?
In most cases, my services are completely free to you. Travel suppliers such as Disney, cruise lines, resorts and tour companies already build the cost of travel advisor commissions into their pricing. Whether you book directly or work with me, that cost is typically already included.
For certain specialty travel arrangements, a planning fee may apply (this is rare). If that ever applies to your trip, I will discuss it with you upfront before any work begins.
What types of trips do you specialize in?
I specialize in Disney destinations, Universal, cruises, all-inclusive resorts and Hawaii. I also help clients with other trips including tours, private guided, and custom individual trips to international destinations.
Do you offer payment plans?
Most vacation packages and cruises require an initial deposit and then allow payments over time until the final payment date. I can help you set up a payment schedule that works for your family.
When should we start planning our trip?
Earlier is usually better, especially for Disney vacations, cruises and holiday travel. Booking early often gives you the best pricing, best availability and more room to make payments over time. Many packages, tours, cruises, & all-inclusive resorts are available 12-18 months in advance. Other independent travel is frequently available 9-11 months in advance.
Can you help with large family trips or group travel?
Yes. I can help coordinate family reunions, multi-generational trips, friend groups, and group cruises. Group trips often involve a lot of moving pieces, and having one person manage the details makes things much easier.
What happens if something goes wrong during our trip?
If an issue comes up before or during travel, I help advocate for my clients and assist however I can. That may include helping with flight delays, supplier issues, changes or unexpected situations while traveling.
Do you book trips for adults without kids too?
Absolutely. While many of my clients are families, I also plan couples trips, girls trips, anniversary vacations, adults-only resorts, luxury travel and cruises.
Can you help choose the right destination if we are overwhelmed?
Yes. Many clients come to me unsure where they want to go. I can narrow down options based on your budget, interests, travel dates and travel style so you are not spending hours researching.
What if I have never been on a cruise before?
That is very common. I walk first-time cruisers through the entire process, including choosing the right cruise line, cabin type, dining options, transportation and what to expect onboard.
Do you only work with clients in Utah?
No. I work with clients all over the United States and Canada.
What information do you need to get started?
Usually I just need your travel dates, destination ideas, number of travelers, birthdates, and a general budget range. From there, I can start building options tailored to your trip. Get started on a quote here.
Why do you ask about budget so early?
Budget helps narrow down the best options and prevents wasted time looking at vacations that are either too limited or far above your comfort zone. It allows me to recommend the best fit for your family from the beginning. If you are flexible on budget and want to prioritize what you want/need over cost, just let me know.
Do you book airfare as part of vacation packages?
Yes, in many cases I can include airfare as part of a package booking; this is not available with theme park packages, though. I also do not book stand-alone flights by themselves.
What if I need to cancel my trip?
Every supplier has different cancellation policies and deadlines. I include terms & conditions so you know exactly what to expect. I do not personally charge any cancellation fees. Travel protection is strongly recommended.
